Applied Statistics:

Objective: The objective was to generate data set of linear measurement, calculate the mean, mode, median, and range of data set, and create a histogram of recorded measurements showing class interval frequency.

The picture is me experimenting and measuring the wooden cubes that we used for out Puzzle Cube project. The tool that i used to measure was called a Dial Caliper. In this lesson, we learned how to measure exactly how long something really is, using the Dial Caliper. Here is a picture of the Dial Caliper tool:

The Puzzle Cube:

Objective: The objective was to brainstorm and sketch possible solutions to an existing design problem, select an approach that meets or satisfies the constraints given in a design brief, and create simple extravagant solid Computer Aided Design (CAD) models from dimensional sketches.

Define the Problem
A local office furniture manufacturing company need our help to come up with a way to make a three dimensional puzzle cube consisting of five pieces, which come together to form a small cube like this:

Brainstorming
For brainstorming, what we did was, we used little connectable cubes as a guide, to create shapes, that were now longer than three cubes high or long. When we did this, we came up with 20+ possibilities. By the end of our day, we had sometimes more than one sheets of paper filled with different shapes. We did these shapes in isometric form, so that we could see exactly how the shape would be. Here's an example:

Research and Generate Ideas
What we had to do here, was to use the plastic cubes that we used earlier, to make the shapes ( each shape a solid colour) and put it together to make a 3x3" cube.

Identify Criteria and Constraints
We have to look after the list of constraints that was given to us in the beginning of our project. Here is a list of constraints that we have to meet:

Select a Approach
We then chose five shapes that we made in the beginning, and put them together, making the shapes cometogether, that formed the cube. Once we knew which shape wnt where, and if it ment the requirements, we had to draw the five shapes in a seprate sheet of paper, colour coding them, so that we can tell which shape was which when we made the prototype.

\

Model or Prototype
After we colored the cubes that we got, (we got a total of twenty eight wooden cubes per student) we put them togerther, laying them out how we wanted the shaped to look, and we glued them with Elmers Rubber Cement Glue.

Refine
When we did the project, we didn't really care for making it look perfect, therefore, we went back and fixed what looked messy, to that everything looked correct.

Create or Make Solutions
Fore the product, we had to come up with an original package. We had to determine what was appropriate and what as absolutely NEEDED in the packaging, for example: Warnings are always needed. They prevent you from being sued, also Having an original Brand name. This is an example of packaging (unfinished):

After this, we just checked to make sure that everything was done, and we were done :)

This was oblique drawings... we worked alone. We learned how to make it porportional and began shading.
The oblique sketch, begins with a straight on view of one of the objects faces. Ithis view shows the objects width, and height. In this view, the depth can be any size and drawn at any angle.

Isometric pictorials were equally measured. They all share the same point, and represent height, width, and depth. Perspective sketching has up to three point perspectives. One point perspective has one vanishing point, two point perspectives have two vanishing points, and three point perspectives have three vanishing points.

Multi-view drawings show two or more two- dimensional views of a three dimensional object. This has about four view of an object all in the same page.

The History of Measurement

I did the history of measurement with my partner madai torres. We got together and decided i would do the cd cover and she would do the powerpoint. (She chose to do the power point :b) i decided that i would be creative with mine and do it funny so i put Peter, Louis, Stewie, and Brian from family guy dressed as cavemen in the front. I did them as cavemen because measurement began a very long time ago, like the cavemen. In the back, i wrote some of the conclusion questions that would be featured on the power point. In the end, our project came to be successful. (:

Innovation of an Invention.

For this project, we worked in groups of two or three, to create a Powerpoint slideabout an innovation about and invention. I worked with my two partners Saliyah, and Ishaq. We divided the work &' individually did the work. we then came together and out our work together. We had chosen to do the Inovation of the iPod. We chose this, because no one was doing this and because we use this Daily. We followed with our conclusion questions and our presentation .

Ideas to Innovate a Beverage Container.

On a certain day i don't remember, Ms. hamrani assigned us to a partner and told us to innovate the plain beverage container. My partner Julio Balbuena and I, decided to make out new design fun and colorful.
We disscused what we wanted, and who we wanted to please. We decided to please families, and make the cup kid and adult friendly cup. This is what we came up with .
